Is electrolysis really permanent?

Yes. Electrolysis is the only FDA-approved method for permanent hair removal. It works by treating each hair follicle individually with heat or chemical energy, fully destroying the growth cells. While laser can reduce hair growth temporarily, only electrolysis offers permanent results.

How many treatments will I need?
Everyone’s hair growth pattern is different, so the number of sessions depends on your unique needs. Factors include the area being treated, hair density, hormone levels, and how consistently you follow your treatment plan. Most clients come weekly or bi-weekly at first, then taper off as the hair becomes finer and less frequent. Full permanent removal can take several months to a couple of years—but sessions become shorter and more spread out over time.
Does it hurt?
It varies! Some clients nap during treatment, while others feel mild discomfort. The sensation is often described as a warming, tingling feeling or a rubber band snap. Sensitivity depends on the treatment area and individual pain tolerance. We offer tips like taking a pain reliever beforehand or using a topical numbing cream to help make your experience more comfortable. You’re always welcome to bring music, a podcast, or just chat during your session.
What areas can be treated?

Almost any area of the body can be treated with electrolysis, including: Eyebrows, Chin & jawline, Upper lip, Cheeks & sideburns, Neck, Breasts, Underarms, Abdomen, Bikini area, Legs, feet, & toes, Back & shoulders. We do not treat inside the nose or ear canal, but we’re happy to customize a treatment plan to suit your goals.

Does electrolysis work on blonde, gray, or light hair?
Yes! Unlike laser hair removal, which targets pigment, electrolysis is effective on all hair colors and skin types. Whether your hair is light, dark, coarse, or fine—you’re a great candidate.
Am I a good candidate for electrolysis?
If you’re looking for a permanent solution to unwanted hair, chances are yes. Electrolysis is safe and effective for all genders, all skin tones, and all hair types. We regularly work with clients: i. Experiencing hormone-related hair growth (e.g. PCOS, pregnancy, menopause) ii. Transitioning and seeking gender-affirming care iii. Tired of shaving, waxing, or laser that didn’t last iv. Seeking long-term results and a self-care experience
How long has electrolysis been around?
Electrolysis was first developed in 1875, and the method has evolved significantly with modern technology. It’s remained a trusted, proven solution for permanent hair removal for over a century
Is it safe?

Absolutely. We follow strict infection control procedures and always use new, sterile, single-use probes for every client. All equipment is sterilized between appointments and our treatment area is thoroughly cleaned and reset after each session—for your safety and comfort.
